Anton Fig is one of the most celebrated drummers in the world. For 29 years he was the drummer for David Letterman on his various television shows. Plus Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame inductions and so many other events.

Robert’s featured song in this episode is “Cakewalk For Debra” from the album Twenty by Robert. Robert chose this song because, not only is it the first song that he ever composed, but Anton played drums on the recording.

Anton Fig was born and raised in South Africa. In the early 1970s he came to America to attend music school at The New England Conservatory in Boston. Robert and Anton met at that time and played together in a band for several years. Anton moved to New York and became a fixture in music recording sessions, playing for example on several KISS albums. He went on to be hired for the David Letterman Show where he remained for 29 years as a featured member of the band along with Paul Shaffer. Of late he has been recording and touring with Joe Bonamassa.
