FOLLOW YOUR DREAM REFLECTIONS

Beginning Sunday, March 22, I’m introducing a new dimension to the podcast called Follow Your Dream Reflections - short observations drawn from my many conversations with remarkable creative artists from around the world.

From time to time I’ll share these reflections on creativity, collaboration, and the artistic life.

The first two Reflections are: The Self-Starters and The Virtuous Creative Loop

CURRENT PODCAST EPISODE

Amanda Ekery - Grammy Nominated, Syrian-Mexican, Multi-Instrumentalist, Singer And Composer. Portland And Panama Jazz Festivals. New Album, Arabe, Comes With 60 Page Art Book!

Amanda Ekery is a Grammy nominated, Syrian-Mexican, multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer. She combines music, research and jazz into her compositions and performances. She has collaborated with a wide range of people including historians, artists, engineers and bakers. She has performed at the Portland Jazz Festival, the Panama Jazz Festival, and The Kennedy Center among others. Her latest release, Árabe, is informed by her Syrian and Mexican shared history and culture on the El Paso border, and it comes along with essays in a 60 page art book with the history and stories behind each track. She’s a winner of the ASCAP Herb Alpert Composers award and the Jazz Hero Award for her gender equity work with El Paso Jazz Girls, her nonprofit organization.

My featured song is “It Don’t Matter”, from the album East Side Sessions by my band Project Grand Slam. Spotify link.
